2023/24 Bulb Planting Success

During October and November 2023, Abbey Hill Parish Councillors and volunteer residents from Two Mile Ash planted an additional 6000 tulip and daffodil bulbs around the estate. Recently you have been able to see the results with beautiful displays at the entrances to Two Mile Ash as well as in the Community Garden. A great big thank you to everyone who helped. Julian Vischer, our parish clerk, retired in March 2024. Julian gave over a decade of advice and support to Abbey Hill Parish Council, serving over 11 years. Councillors all wish Julian the best for his retirement and thank him for the assistance he has provided. Additional Dog Waste Bin

Additional Dog Waste Bin

Abbey Hill Parish Council have funded an additional dog waste bin in Two Mile Ash. The new dog waste bin is on the High St not far from the entrance to the Bluebell Circuit. It was installed following requests by local residents who walk the Bluebell Circuit. Abbey Hill Parish Council have now installed 15 dog waste bins across Two Mile Ash. Abbey Hill Parish Council's 2023/24 Bulb planting project continued on Saturday 11th of November on Corn Hill at the junction with H4 Dansteed Way. Five volunteers led by local resident Lin Healey got together to help brighten the entrances of Two Mile Ash at this, the final location on this year's programme. Abbey Hill Parish Council's Two Mile Ash Entrance Bulb Planting project continued on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October. Parish Council volunteers planted a further 2500+ bulbs. Three locations were visited. On Saturday five volunteers planted bulbs at the junction of The High St and V4 Watling St as well as the junction of Fairways and H3 Monks Way. Abbey Hill Parish Council's 2023/24 Bulb planting project continued on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of October on Church Hill at the junction with V5 Gt Monks St. We planted approximately 1800 bulb across the two days with eight volunteers on Saturday and five volunteers on Sunday. Following last year's successful trial of bulb planting by Abbey Hill Parish Council, near the Mercure Hotel, our 2023/24 project has begun. 500 bulbs were planted on Clay Hill near the V5 junction on 15th Oct by parish council volunteers. Abbey Hill Parish Council funded six play sessions in the Two Mile Ash central play park during the school summer holidays. Wheelie Bin Collection Calendar

The new Wheelie Bin waste collection service starts week commencing 4th September. Black and green bins are collected every week. The bulb planting trial carried out by parish council volunteers has been a great success. Volunteers living nearby planted thousands of daffodil and tulip bulbs at the entrance to The Approach in November 2022 and now they're flowering.
